Now called While U Wait, the cafe continues the legacy of Doc and Sheryl Campbell's While You're Waiting, but introduces some fresh faces and food to the much loved shop.
New owner Nicole Reston is no stranger in town - she also owns and manages the popular boho boutique Mixi Blu.
"I love homemade, fresh food and experimenting in the kitchen so it's great to be able to do that here at While U Wait," she said.
"I'm passionate about food with taste, my spice rack has at least 40 to 50 different spices, I use fresh herbs and I mix my own flavours.
"I'm not a chef by trade but have learnt from my family, cooking recipes my mother, grandmother and mother-in-law have taught me so it's very authentic, homely food."

Ms Reston also has experience in hospitality, having managed a cafe in Sydney before she moved to Mudgee.
She said she'd always wanted an opportunity to get back into the world of cafes, and now she enjoyed injecting her own style into While U Wait.
"The cafe will more or less have the same feel as before, but it will look a bit different. My style is more eclectic and bohemian so there will be some of that here," she said.
"People will start to see a few different touches, a bit of colour and greenery to make it feel even more homely and special."
Running two businesses is no easy task and Ms Reston has trained local barista's Morgan Hannaford and Anneleise Payne with the help of Sharon Muscat who worked in the cafe with the previous owners.
The intention is for the team to run the cafe while Ms Reston stays at Mixi Blu full time, popping in once a week to help out.
"Mixi is my baby so I'll be there most days, but that's why I've got the most wonderful staff to carry on here," she said.
"The girls are beautiful and bubbly and we've already gotten great feedback from people who have met them which is very encouraging."
