"I'm just really proud of the whole club's efforts and having most grades contesting the finals is a very good accomplishment and is a real show of the strength of our club," Wombats president Jeff Hands said.
The club's second grade men's squad posted a rousing 22-12 win over Narromine, while the first grade men's and ladies teams have secured minor semi-final wins to book a shot at preliminary finals this weekend.
The clubs under 18s will also contest a minor semi-final on August 15.
"There is definitely a lot of excitement around the club to see all the senior grades still in the hunt," Mr Hands said.
"There is a bit of a buzz around the club and we're very excited to see that happen, the coaches and managers have been doing a fantastic job - everyone is really pumped to see some good matches and results on the weekend."
Mr Hands said he couldn't single out any performances on the weekend, other than to praise team-wide efforts in each of the grades.
"Our strength has really been sticking to our gameplan and not getting sucked in to what other teams are doing, all three grades were brilliant with that on the weekend," he said.
"For the seconds they really just ground Narromine out of the game, it was a fantastic team effort and now that sees them through to the grand final in Parkes on August 14."
Meanwhile, the Wombat women's team devastated the Parkes Boars with a 33-8 hammering in their minor semi-final clash, while CSU Mitchell were handed a 27-12 loss by the Narromine Gorillas to see the season-long rivals coming together this weekend in the preliminary final.
In first grade, the Wombats summoned a sterling 21-8 win over the Dubbo Rhinos to bring their season to a close, and will also face CSU Mitchell this weekend after they lost the major to Parkes 31-19.
Mr Hands said the Wombats senior grades were coming on strong at the pointy end of the season and was confident the club could mount a good battle with their season-long rivals in CSU this weekend in Bathurst.
He particularly praised the club's set pieces around line-outs and the scrum and said they could be a deciding factor.
"CSU have won all four games against us in those two grades [first and ladies], but they've been close and our teams are building at the right end of the season," he said.
Mr Hands also praised the effort of the junior arm of the club with the under 14s finishing as minor premiers, while the under 16s also head to the major semi-final this weekend after finishing second on the table.
He said the club hadn't fielded an under 18 Colts team for about five years, but with some spectacular emerging young players it will be a great transition into the senior ranks.
"It definitely helps that transition and the Colts is something we can build on to strengthen our numbers as time goes on."
