David Halpin (37) continues with his recent outstanding form as he takes the Mudgee Golf Club and Soldiers Motel voucher as the winner.
After the game, David told how he had been playing poorly for some time and then made a slight change which turned his form around completely.
After much, much urging he finally relented and told us his secret formula; he said "don't use your brain - just walk up and hit it!".
Taking second place was the ever reliable Ron Tribe (36) who never seems to play a bad round and his consistency is a major asset.
Mudgee Golf Club ball winners were David, Ron, Darryl, Mark, Doug, Tass, John, Cec and Mike.
After a few messages and phone calls with the Dubbo Vets, an agreement has been made to postpone the InterClub Challenge until the end of September or early October in Mudgee.
The major events on the calendar (COVID-19 permitting) are:
- 13-17 September - Mudgee Vets' Week of Golf (volunteers will be needed)
- 20 September - InterClub Challenge vs Bathurst at Bathurst
- 19 October - 4BBB Medley Stableford (Reliance Cup) at Henbury
- 16 November - InterClub Challenge vs Bathurst at Mudgee
Upcoming vets' events are:
- Tuesday 10 August - Medley Stableford
- Tuesday 17 August - Medley Stableford
- Tuesday 24 August - Medley Stableford
Until then, new members are encouraged to come along and join in fun while enjoying the course and meeting the characters that make up Mudgee Veterans' golf.
