As the weather heats up so too do regional races with multiple Mid-Western trainers putting some of their finest up for nomination in the upcoming Orange meet.
Although spectators are a fond memory at this stage, regional competitions remain as fierce as ever with three regional trainers nominating 11 local horses respectively across the seven race event.
Thompson Racing (Gulgong) has put Denace and Larynx up for selection in the first race of the day, while the stables enter Spilia in race two alongside Mark Milton's (Mudgee) Cthonia (NZ) and David J Smith's (Mudgee) Intense.
Emeriz is the hope for Thompson Racing in the Allurecrete Flooring Class 2 Handicap (1000 metres) while Toongi Bound (Thompson Racing) is nominated in the hotly-contested race six showing alongside Milton's Serene Shadow and Soozie Maree.
While races four and five will have no local showings, the final race of the day may welcome Miss Concheeta for Milton and Press Sydney for Thompson Racing.
Acceptances will be declared by 9am on Thursday, September 15 for the September 20 meet.
