Glen Willow Stadium was awash with Central Coast Mariners and Blacktown City fans on November 13 for round 32 of the FFA Cup.
The undesirable weather conditions were not enough to stop hundreds of football fans from across the state trickling into the state-of-the-art complex before the 5pm kick-off.
For Jason Willis from Sydney, the Mariners have been a constant in his life for the past 15 years and it was no question that he would make the trip to Mudgee.
"I like coming out to the FFA Cup games," he said.
"I've always been a Mariners fan, ever since day one. There was no doubt in my mind that I would come to Mudgee to watch them play.
"Should the Mariners return to Mudgee, I will too."
While Antonia Gale and David Craig admit they have had somewhat of an off and on relationship with the Mariners over the past five years, they can't help but return to the navy blue and yellow contingent time and time again.
"We love it [football]," Ms Gale said.
"We have just been dying to watch them play," Mr Craig added.
"I just love everything about them. They're a team who really look after their community.
"We go wherever they play so of course we would come back to Mudgee if they do," Ms Gale said.
The November 13 match is the first FFA Cup held in Mudgee.
