A Melbourne underworld figure has been jailed for 32 years for the daylight shooting murder of a man tricked into visiting a suburban shopping plaza.

Kadir Ors, 24, was sitting at a bus stop with two other men when George Marrogi, 33, arrived at an Officeworks car park in a stolen red Holden Commodore on the afternoon of September 26, 2016.
Marrogi got out of the car and fired 13 shots at Mr Ors, hitting him in the back, leg, hip and buttocks, killing him.
In his final case before his retirement Justice Paul Coghlan said Marrogi had carried out a sustained attack in a public place and would be sentenced as a serious violent offender.
"This is one of the most blatant examples of murder that I have seen," he said.
The motive for the killing is still unknown, but Justice Coghlan said Mr Ors had been tricked into visiting the plaza where he was shot.
During one of four Supreme Court trials Marrogi faced over the killing, the jury was told his DNA had been found on a torn piece of cardboard from an ammunition packet left in the Commodore, which was found abandoned in a nearby suburb.
The cardboard was part of a packet of 9mm Sellier and Bellot brand bullets, the same type used in the shooting.
Other evidence included CCTV footage of the killer dressed in black, getting out of the Commodore and running after Mr Ors.
Marrogi has maintained his innocence throughout a legal process that has lasted six years.
One jury could not reach a unanimous decision on Marrogi's case and another two trials had to be abandoned due to issues with jurors.
He was convicted of murder in a fourth trial in December last year.
Justice Coghlan said while he showed no evidence of remorse, the court did not regard him as a hopeless case.
Marrogi has been in trouble with the law since he was a teenager, with previous convictions for armed robbery, attacking a police officer and manslaughter over a fatal stabbing at Roxburgh Park.
He was this week charged with heading a crime ring from prison, allegedly ordering his associates to import drugs while pretending to call his lawyer from jail.
If convicted he faces a further sentence, Justice Coghlan said.
Police charged 30 other people in the organised crime crackdown, which led to the seizure of illicit drugs, firearms and cash.
Marrogi will serve 27 years before being eligible for parole.
