The radio host and his fiancée Tegan Kynaston welcomed their first child, a boy named Otto, on Thursday morning.
Mr Sandilands' co-host Jackie 'O' Henderson, who is also Otto's godmother, announced the news on the Kyle and Jackie O Show.
"Otto has been born. We are so excited. Tegan's really healthy, the baby's healthy," Ms Henderson said.
Mr Sandilands said he cut the umbilical cord in a post-birth interview aired on the show.
"I didn't realise it was like tough calamari and blood squirted out," he said.

The radio host has been preparing for his fatherly duties by taking a first aid course for infants, although he used his whole hand to perform CPR instead of two fingers, as is required for babies.
Working as a radio host for 30 years, Mr Sandilands is known for his controversial on-air moments, which has led to companies removing advertisements, breaches of the Industry Codes of Practice and his firing from Australian Idol in 2009.
