The Monuments Men, an action drama focusing on an unlikely World War II platoon tasked with rescuing artistic masterpieces from the Nazis, will share the screen with the hugely anticipated The LEGO Movie, which tells the story of a fight to save the Lego universe from being glued together forever by the evil tyrant Lord Business.
Based on a true story, The Monuments Men spins truth and Hollywood together to tell the story behind the museum curators who found themselves in a race against time to avoid the destruction of 1000 years of culture, risking their lives to protect and defend mankind’s greatest achievements. With George Clooney, Matt Damon, Bill Murray, John Goodman and Cate Blanchett, The Monuments Men is a must see for anyone interested in a behind the scenes look at World War II.
Art the other end of the spectrum, is the hilarious, 3D computer animated LEGO Movie. The movie follows Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared.
The film incorporate some of the LEGO world’s most popular figures while introducing several new characters, inviting fans who have enjoyed the brand’s innovative toys and hugely popular video games for generations to experience their visually unique LEGO world as never seen before.
While The Monuments Men will appeal to history buffs and a slightly older, adult audience, expect to see adults and children alike battling it out for the best seats when The LEGO Movie screens from May 2 to 4.
Tickets for The Monuments Men and The LEGO Movie will go on sale on Monday, April 28 at 9am.
