Two men from the state’s north-west will face Mudgee Local Court after being found with “a significant quantity of cannabis” in the town on Saturday.

As part of the Mudgee Target Action Group, local police stopped a red Holden Commodore in Horatio Street, Mudgee, at about 12.45am on July 5.
One of the men, a 27-year-old from Collarenebri, was in the possession of a small quantity of cannabis.
He will front Mudgee Local Court for the offence of possessing a prohibited drug.
A 19-year-old male from Lightning Ridge was in the possession of a water pipe used in the administration of cannabis and more than 400 grams of high grade cannabis leaf.
He will appear before the same court to answer charges of supply prohibited drugs, administering a prohibited drug, possession of a drug utensil and hinder police.
On Sunday Mudgee police thanked the community for their support in relation to ongoing drug investigations throughout the command which stretches as far as Coonabarabran.
On Mudgee Local Area Command’s Facebook page a statement said “Druggies refer to those within their drug community that provide information to police as ‘dogs’, but the majority of the community thank you for standing up and making a difference.
“After all, a dog is a man’s best friend,” the post said.
They also encouraged anybody with information about drug supply in the community to please contact their local police station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
