I am a used bookdealer in England and have just purchased a small collection of old postcards and a photograph depicting early 20th century farming in the Mudgee area.

The postcards are all black and white and show various images of farm life and the people on the farm. From pencil messages on the rear the farm appears to be "ENFIELD" and its about two miles from anywhere (That was then....I'm sure its nearer to civilization now!)
The main produce of the farm was wheat but also sheep and hay. The messages on the back are written by "Frank" and appear to be to his sister Polly...probably in England.
They talk of wheat harvesting finishing just before Christmas day and sending money home to Mother when he can afford it and other aspects of farm life.
The postcards can be viewed on ebay where they are for sale this week but I have attached one which you are welcome to use in print if you wish.
To view the postcards, visit our website www.blackcatbookshop.com and click on the words "ebay " in the top left corner of the homepage.....scroll down the list to find AUSTRALIA and click....the item should open up. We have five items listed in all.
