Dunedoo Swans could wrap up the Castlereagh League minor premiership with a win over Coonabarabran on Saturday.
The Unicorns travel to Dunedoo’s Robertson Oval to meet the high-flying Swans in the top of the table clash.
Dunedoo lead the way after 10 rounds with their perfect record intact.
They are on 20 points with the Unicorns four points further back in second spot.
A win for the home side would all but seal the minor premiership as they have games against out of sorts Gilgandra and Trangie in the final month of competition.
Dunedoo overcame a fiery and ill-discipline Warren last week to win 32-16 while Coonabarabran scored a 66-22 victory over Trangie.
Travis Smith crossed the white stripe on five occasions in the Unicorns’ 44-point triumph.
The last time these two teams met it was ding-dong battle at Coonabarabran.
It was the only time – apart from the 2012 and 2013 grand finals – the Unicorns lost on home soil as Dunedoo won 14-10.
But with home support and ground advantage, Tom Yeo’s men will be looking to making it win number 11 and maintain the momentum heading to the semi-finals.
Another team looking to carry the momentum is Gulgong.
They travel to Trangie to meet the Magpies in what seems to be an easy victory for the Terriers if the season’s results are any indication.
Trangie have struggled, winning their only match a fortnight ago, while Gulgong have beaten the likes of Coonamble, Warren and twice Gilgandra.
However, Terriers coach Tom Jackson knows all too well there aren’t any easy games in the competition.
He will be urging his players to maintain their intensity and control the ball in attack.
Coolah make the trip to Gilgandra to meet the Panthers.
It will be a hard slog for the Kangaroos who last week showed they can match it with the top teams of the competition.
Playing Coonamble, Coolah was down 40-36 with less than 10 minutes to go before the Bears scored two tries to win by 14 points.
In the final match of the round, Coonamble hosts Warren.
