Chateau de Sours has been producing wine on Bordeaux’s right bank, just to the south west of St. Emilion in the commune of Saint-Quentin-de-Baron, for over 200 years. Built in 1792, the chateau has been restored to its former glory by proprietors Martin and Nicolette Krajewski.
Today, Chateau de Sours is producing some of Bordeaux’s most respected red and white wines, and is considered the benchmark for Bordeaux rose.
“Our approachable styles of Bordeaux wines have been well received in Australia and indeed, around the world”
Chateau de Sours Bordeaux Red, White and Rose and Sparkling Rose enjoy solid distribution in the Australian marketplace, having been introduced in 2006 and supported by regular market visits by Martin Krajewski.
“Our approachable styles of Bordeaux wines have been well received in Australia and indeed, around the world” Mr Krajewski said.
“We are proud to partner with the Oatley family to increase our representation in Australia and in particular, the on-premise market place.”
Robert Oatley Vineyards’ CEO Anthony Roberts has been leading the development of their Australian portfolio to build upon their success in the on-premise sector.
“We’ve enjoyed a great reception for our own wines in the restaurant, clubs and hotel market here and have shown, with the addition of like-minded family-owned prestige brands such as Champagnes Piper-Heidsieck and Charles Heidsieck, Taltarni, Clover Hill and Cumulus Wines, that we can gain further listings for their terrific products as well,” he said.
Mr Krajewski will be visiting eastern Australia in early November to present his latest releases.
Chateau de Sours joins a select group of wine brands distributed by Robert Oatley Vineyards within Australia: Ara Wines (Marlborough); Argento (Argentina); Champagnes Piper Heidsieck and Charles Heidsieck (France); Cherubino (WA); Clover Hill (Tasmania); Cumulus Wine Estate (Orange); La Gioiosa (Italy); Rockburn (Central Otago); Rolling (Central Ranges); Santi (Italy); Taltarni (Vic).
