Mudgee has been seeded in the blue division of the state-wide competition and the incentive to win on Sunday is a chance to play Campbelltown City in the semi-final at Warilla on December 6.
The Mudgee Bowling Club team reached the quarter finals on Saturday by defeating Wagga Rules two rinks to one at Cowra.
The fours team of Anthony Hennessy, Wayne Marskell, Tom O’Connor and Mick Clynch went down in their game but Mudgee were too good in the pairs and singles.
A decisive win by John Hodges and Nigel Watkins in the pairs and Doug Kenney in the singles meant Mudgee go through to the final eight in the competition.
Hodges and Watkins prevailed 20-11 and were so dominant the final end wasn’t played. Kenney remains undefeated in his four games to date, again coming out on top against his Wagga opponent 31-21.

Mudgee Bowling Club’s Kevin Pye won the 2014 Club Handicap singles after a hard fought final win over Sean Costigan on Sunday.
Pye made the final after a semi-final victory earlier in the day over Gerry Hennessy, while Costigan outlasted Ray Sebire in a tight affair during their semi-final.
The final was neck and neck until the 20th end when Costigan gained eight shots in four ends to lead 27-21 and seemed to be closing out match.
Pye however refused to lie down, and fought back to level the match at 28-all, before winning the next two ends to claim victory.
