The Mudgee and District Bikers Toyrun is ready to roll this Saturday (November 29, 2014) for the 30th anniversary running of the event that helps out during the festive season through the St Vincent de Paul’s Christmas Appeal.
The day begins at the Mudgee Railway Station with a Show n Shine, registration and other activities from 8.30am, including raffles.
St Vinnie’s will be serving tea and slices.
The trip includes a Dice Run with cash prizes up for grabs and entries close at 9.30am. Santa will lead the parade out of town at 10.30am and the Toyrun begins.
It will head to Portland for lunch, on to Sofala (via Kelso) and Rylstone and ends at the Lue Hotel where there will be live music from Nick Wall, Jess Holland, and a reunion of local band McGee.
This year local woman Jane Hanna will be doing a fundraising run around Mudgee prior to the departure of the rest of the participants.
She will be leaving the Railway Station before the Toyrun will and is timing it to arrive back when Santa and the motorbikes and cars are ready to go.
Jane can be sponsored for $20, $10, or $5 per kilometre and she said she’ll do a maximum of 10km, and all of the money raised also goes towards the St Vinnie’s Christmas Appeal to be used to help local families doing it tough.
Toys can be donated to the Toyrun at the Mudgee Railway Station on Saturday morning (November 29) before the ride leaves at 10.30am.
If you can’t make it on Saturday morning, donations can be dropped off today at the Property Shop (corner of Church and Market Streets, Mudgee) or Berridge and Gallagher (20 Swords Court, Mudgee).
To sponsor Jane Hanna on her run, you can contact her by calling 6372 6138 or 0416 717 590, at Berridge and Gallagher, 20 Swords Court or by email jane@bandgelectrical.com.au
