The local TFC, who opened their own premises this year, provides short-term, respite and bridging care with a focus on permanency planning for children either within their family of origin or in the care system.
Mudgee Program Manager Beth Numeyer said that the get-together was a way of saying thanks for the support they’ve received throughout 2014.
“We wanted to say thank you to all of our carers for their commitment to the children in their care and wish them all and our Barnardos supporters a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year,” she said.
Beth also thanked Wilpinjong for donating vouchers for Christmas hams for Barnardos’ carers and families.
She added that they are still seeking foster carers who can lend a hand to local young people in need.
“We are still keen to recruit more carers to provide a safe and loving home for children aged 0-12 years old who are in need or at significant risk of harm,” she said.
Mudgee Barnardos TFC house is located at 117B Church Street, Mudgee.
