Chloe Dowler of Third Street, Mudgee, was charged with 'Assault occasioning actual bodily harm', 'Common assault', and 'Stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm'.
On Tuesday, November 18, 2014, Dowler became enraged when her boyfriend didn't get her from work, she then rang up his mother and started swearing and making threats.
Dowler went to the house and confronted the victim and pushed her down before punching her in the side of the face.
A neighbour intervened and Dowler turned on her, swinging punches and hitting her in the arms, face, chest, and head, then pulling her hair and punching her in the nose, which caused swelling and bruising.
The incident was broken up when some of Dowler's family members arrived to take her away.
Her legal-aid solicitor, Chris Yee, said that his client accepts that there were a number of different ways she could have dealt with the situation.
Magistrate Terry Lucas agreed and told the defendant, “this shouldn't have happened, you lost your cool, had you have thought about it you wouldn't be here”.
