The massive piece of equipment was cut into four pieces to enable the move and delivered to the museum from the nearby cement works by three large low loaders. Each piece weighing 12, 14, 14 and 22 tonnes respectively was then carefully manoeuvred onto a prepared concrete pad by a large crane.
The assembled piece gives some idea of the scale of equipment used in the cement industry and will eventually have a descriptive plaque placed nearby.
A section of the former ropeway including the top part of a tower and two buckets will also form part of the external collection at the museum and will also have a descriptive plaque.
