The exhibition includes 29 images from each day of his 29-day walk, plus one from his starting point in Saint Jean de Port, France.
All the paintings have been published in a book, Camino de Santiago: The Story of a Journey in Paintings.
Proceeds from sales of the book will help to build an art gallery, painting studio and outdoor performance area in the remote Aboriginal community of Utopia in the Northern Territory.
Mr Tarte has been visiting Utopia for several years, helping the residents to build shelters using sustainable building methods.
He hopes to begin work on the new cultural centre in May this year, and continue in the winter months over the next two years.
