Ed Halmagyi (Fast Ed) and his crew from the lifestyle program arrived in Rylstone a couple of weeks ago and began filming for the show.
The morning was taken up with Fast Ed preparing and cooking a Hungarian noodle dish using some of the produce from the nearby community garden.
This was when one of the teachers spied the unusual activity over the back fence. Relieving Principal Jodee Burcher approached them crew asking if the children could come and watch.
After promising to be quiet as mice, the whole school came out to watch Fast Ed making his noodle dish.
The crew were so impressed with the students’ behaviour that they allowed them to interact, asking a couple of the students to use the clapper.
After lunch Fast Ed was filmed presenting his dish to the show’s host Johanna Griggs and Na Lan to taste.
A few local residents were also lucky to be on hand to do the taste test.
The crew then set up for filming Na Lan showing Johanna all the steps in making chicken and vegetable dumplings.
It was a long day and they finished filming at 5.30pm. Dessert was filmed the following day in Mudgee.
