Jim Yeo and Peter Stoddart entertained around 80 VIEW members with hits from the 50s and 60s.
The songs from artists including the Bee Gees, Chubby Checker, the Righteous Brothers and The Searchers had the members and guests up and dancing.
President Diane Groves presented long-service pins to Marie Graham (20 years), Trish Staples (10 years) and Rhonda Clarke (10 years).
In support of the Smith Family’s Winter Appeal, members were invited to make a donation towards an appeal to provide stationery to disadvantaged children.
VIEW members are also invited to support a clothing drive in aid of The Smith Family. Unwanted clothing will be collected by the branch for delivery to The Smith Family in Sydney.
All types of clothing will be accepted – even odd shoes are useful as they can be sent to countries where many people have lost a foot or leg as a result of landmines.
VIEW member Annie Quinn has offered to store the clothing until it can be delivered.
VIEW is a women’s volunteer organisation which works with The Smith Family to help Australian children to reach their potential through education.
Lunch meetings are held on the first Friday of each month at the Mudgee Golf Club, and featuring a guest speaker New members are always welcome.
