“In terms of visitor comfort, before the showers on Friday it was actually around 13 degrees which is good for this time of year,” AREC general manager Steve Garland said.
“On Saturday the sun even poked its head out and when I had a look around that afternoon, there were just a number of people sitting down and relaxing so all in all, I think it was a successful field days,” he said.
From cooking demonstrations to woodchopping, farm safety talks to horse management, there was something for everyone this year, no matter the agriculture sector they were a part of.
There were hundreds of exhibitors in the rings selling quad bikes, tractors, zip ties, fleeces, water pumps, stoves, and everything in between.
Non-farming exhibits and stalls were well attended as well, with clothing, jewellery, cookware, and boarding school exhibits drawing people into the pavilion over the two day event.
Highlights of this year’s field days included demonstrations by World Champion axeman David Foster and the launch of the Central Tablelands Local Land Services grants and funding program by Member for Parkes Mark Coulton.
Mr Coulton announced $1.3million in funding for natural resource management for the Central tablelands over the next 12 months.
He said it was a great privilege to be invited to the Field Days to see what was available.
“I do cover a large part of NSW but it’s great to be invited along to something like this, he said.
“I’m really glad that the other minister couldn’t make it because I love coming along to the field days and having look around,” he said.
Mr Garland said each of the exhibitors he had spoken to was extremely happy with the turn out at the event and the number of people who had asked questions about their products or services.
“The public and the exhibitors all seemed to have a really nice time,” he said.
