The association met with members on Friday to discuss the First Response Policing agreement following previously unsuccessful negotiations to resolve rostering concerns at Mudgee Police Station.
The Association’s executive member for Western NSW, Sue Rose, said the branch is seeking assurances that a supervisor and station officer will be rostered and maintained 24-hours a day in accordance with policy.
“What we’re asking for is the minimum number of supervisors, which is one in most country areas,” Ms Rose said.
“Mudgee does have a supervisor, we have got several sergeants here, but what we’re saying is that supervisor might be utilised in other ways such as running with the car crew.”
The association is further seeking the number of eight-and-a-half hour shifts be be limited to three in any one six-week roster over and above training and court shifts.
Negotiations on the agreement between the local branch of the PANSW and NSW Police have been ongoing for 12 months.
Ms Rose said the safety of the Mudgee community and police association members was paramount.
“The community will lose out, they should have the policing numbers and staff there to adequately service their community,” she said.
The Guardian contacted Mudgee Local Area Command for comment on Friday.
