Pirate Festival organisers Sue Honeysett and Mary Kavanagh from Kandos Events were there to help publicise the upcoming festival on September 19. They said it’s shaping up to be a fabulous day.
There are still a handful of tickets available for Saturday evening’s Buccaneer Bash with Jon English and his six piece band. They’re $65 each and are available at Down the Track Café or by phoning Sue on 6379 4337 or mobile 0431 930 960.
The Pirate Festival which will be held during the day on The Green is also shaping up to be a fun event. It starts at 10am and will go through to around 5pm with live music, a Smugglers Cove for the kids, face painting, tattoos, show bags, games and storytelling.
There’ll be a pirate’s camp with gallows and stocks, a history of piracy and a fortune teller. It’ll be a fun packed day with belly dancers, the acclaimed Zany Yare Youth Circus including acrobats and the exciting Swordplay team who will do two performances on the day including a pirate themed swordfight.
Cost for entry to the Pirate Festival is $10. The festival is a non-profit community event.
