A preliminary round was played last Monday to confirm all combinations were ready for the official tip off at the PCYC or St Matthews stadium where the games will be played.
Results of the warm up matches confirmed that the competition would be fiercely contested over the next 14 weeks and that last year’s grand finalists, Crystal Clear Rams and Lawson Park- who clash in the match of the round this week- will be severely tested in their bid to feature in the finale of 2016.
Three new teams, Gary Brentnall Carpenty, Ghost Squad and Desperados join the competition, and while on last week’s games there is a question mark over their potential to challenge the established teams, a few week of playing together will no doubt improve their chances.
Mayso’s Pro Shop has a new line up, and are eyeing an A grade grand final spot, while Country Physio probably need a couple of more players to challenge the top three.
Hairy Globetrotters are back looking to successfully defend their B grade title.
Draw for Monday, May 9
PCYC
6-30 Mayso’s Pro Shop V Country Physio
7-30 Crystal Clear Rams V Lawson Park
St Matthews
