Mayso’s Pro Shop also downed Crystal Clear Rams 44-38 to boost their chances of a top four finish, after edging out Country Physio 49-42 in round one.
Sharing the lead in the competition is Eltons Hairy Globetrotters with wins over The Purple Cobras 56-30, and Desperados 35-31. The crunch will come when they play the play the stronger teams, where they will probably find it difficult to continue their winning streak.
The three new teams, Ghost Squad, Desperados and The Purple Cobras have shown glimpses of their potential, but it will take several games together before they have the defence and shooting accuracy to match the established teams.
Country Physio, despite the loss to Mayso’s Pro Shop, were too strong for Ghost Squad last week 44-32, have a line up when playing at their best, to upset the top teams.
The ladder at the moment has Lawson Park, Eltons Hairy Globetrotters and Mayso’s Pro Shop on top with 8 points, Country Physio 4, Crystal Clear Rams, Desperados and The Purple Cobra 2 points, Ghost Squad 1.
