ST PAT’S produced one of the most remarkable Group 10 premier league comebacks in recent memory to salvage a 34-all draw against hosts Mudgee Dragons on Sunday, bridging a 28-point deficit within the final 15 minutes of play at Glen Willow Stadium.

Pat’s went into half-time down 12-4 but were on the end of a barrage of Dragons tries early in the second half.
The dominant period for the Dragons put them up 32-4 inside the last quarter of the game before the visitors went on a scoring spree.
Dragons brought a stop to the Pat’s run with a penalty goal, which gave them a 34-28 lead.
However, a converted Pat’s try in the final minute of the game capped off an unbelievable 52-point half of football.
“Shannon Peters was best on ground for us by a country mile. He brought it home for us in those last 15 minutes which was really great to see,” Pat’s coach Kurt Hancock said.
“Brady Cheshire was excellent and Benjamin John would have had one of his best games of the season.
“We’ll definitely take the draw but we really need to make sure that we build off those last 10 minutes we played. We need to speed our game up and make sure we keep up our line speed.
“It did look bleak for us for a while. To put on 30 points in that space of time though, I’d say we’re the only team in competition capable of that.”
Pat’s are no strangers to second half fightbacks this season.
Sunday’s draw evoked memories of the Saints’ 24-point run which saw them home 28-24 over the Oberon Tigers in May.
