There are still tickets left for some fabulous sessions, including Out of This World Stories, a discussion about speculative fiction; Books with Heart, featuring bestselling romance authors; The Stella Session featuring this year’s Stella Prize winner Charlotte Wood; the James Knight session at the Mudgee Brewery, discussing his book on Henry Lawson and Banjo Paterson.
Fiction author Jenn J McLeod has arrived early to make the most of the Mudgee experience.
“Mudgee has been on my wish list for ages,” Jenn said.
“I’d heard so much about it from other travellers that when I got the opportunity we didn't hesitate to turn the caravan around and head south in winter. But what a wonderful warm welcome we’ve had already. Wine and words? It doesn’t get any better than that.”
Australia’s 'small town storyteller' will be appearing in the Books With Heart session, as well as in conversation with crime writer Candice Fox about the Ned Kelly Award winner’s new book, a collaboration with the internationally bestselling James Patterson.
The Readers’ Festival team is excited to be in the heart of Mudgee this year and if you’re new to town or the festival there will be plenty of volunteers to steer you in the right direction – they'll be easily identifiable by their lime green lanyards and big smiles.
“When in doubt look for the lime green flags outside festival venues. The MRF team is really looking forward to this big literary weekend and are here to help you enjoy yourself,” festival manager Portia Lindsay said.
Book tickets online today or if you'd prefer to pick up general session tickets at the door just visit the MRF Information Desk in the Mudgee Library from 8.30am on Saturday morning. Please note that the Sunday morning sessions Books With Heart and All About Mothers are now in different venues to previously advertised. Books with Heart panel will be held in the Stables and All About Mothers with Rod Jones will take place at the Town Hall Theatre. Got a question? Just pop into the Mudgee Library.
