Thousands of people are expected to take advantage of early voting leading up to the NSW Local Council elections to be held on Saturday, September 10.

NSW Electoral Commissioner John Schmidt said as there is no absent voting at council elections, people who can’t get to a polling place for their council are on election day should arrange for a postal or pre-poll vote.
People can apply for a postal vote online at www.votensw.info or by calling 1300 135 736.
Applications must be received by 5pm on Monday, September 5.
Pre-poll voting opens 8am Monday, August 29, and closes 6pm Friday, September. 9. In the Mid-Western Region, pre-polling will be available at the council offices in Gulgong and Rylstone and St John’s Anglican Church hall in Mudgee, or the Lithgow Returning Office in shop 8, Pottery Plaza Valley Drive.
People who are not on the roll in NSW or whose current enrolment details are not correct may be eligible to enrol or update their details when they vote.
