The 18s should be at full strength however the Premier League team continue a run of shocking luck with injuries this season and look likely to be without star players Hamish Bryant (calf) and Chris Ward (broken hand).
This combined with the season ending injury to Todd Munn will see three first class forwards unavailable for semi-final football.
Outside backs Tom Lewsley and Jeff Wright are also unavailable.
They do however, still have the team that go all the way and they should certainly be more than competitive against Oberon.
They are coming off of a convincing and determined win over the highly rated Bathurst Panthers last weekend.
The Dragons League Tag and 1st Division teams finished the season with their respective seasons last Sunday with determined efforts, however could not match the class of their opponents at this point in the season.
It is interesting to note however that both teams throughout the season have beaten teams who’ve qualified in the top three for the finals, showing they’ve been impacted by injury in 2016.
Group 10 president Linore Zamparini believes the stage is set for an exciting and absorbing finals series.
Last weekend saw Orange CYMS claim the minor premiership while St Pat’s and Oberon earned hosting rights for the first weekend.
“It's been a really good year so far and really close. It was only on Sunday at 4pm that it was decided St Pat's got to host the semi-final and not Panthers. Panthers got beat and that moved everything around a bit,” Zamparini said, referring to Mudgee’s 34-22 win over Panthers.
"The teams in the top five a couple of weeks out were always going to finish in that top five, but it still wasn't clear who was going to finish where.
"Oberon in the first round beat them at Oberon in one of the toughest games both of them played all year and then when Oberon went up there to Mudgee, they drew 26-all.
"It will be a cracker.”
