Since its inception, Daffodil Day has raised over $133m for life-saving cancer research, support services and prevention programs.
Local fundraising stands are located at the Mudgee Town Centre, Mayne Street Gulgong, Kandos Community and Charity Shop, and NAB’s Central West Branches.
Cancer Council Western Region Daffodil Day coordinator, Brianna Carracher, urged everyone to buy merchandise to show support for someone they know.
“This year, Cancer Council is proudly celebrating 30 years of Daffodil Day and by buying and wearing a pin on this national day of hope, locals can continue contributing to life-saving cancer research, advocacy, prevention programs and support services,” she said.
“Everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer, with one in two Australians predicted to be diagnosed by age 85.
“We encourage everyone to make a difference by supporting Cancer Council this Daffodil Day; get out there, wear a pin, and give some fresh daffodils to someone you know.”
