Mr and Mrs Gordon were married in Glasgow on September 16, 1942. They emigrated to Australia with their children John, Cathy and Rachel as “ten pound poms” in 1952, sailing on board the Cameronia.
Their daughter, Rachel Knowles, said after settling in Australia, her parents had enjoyed exploring the country and travelling overseas, including revisiting Scotland.
“They have both had a very active life, which is probably why they are still here,” Mrs Knowles said.
Mr and Mrs Gordon moved to Mudgee from Woy Woy and now live at The Opals aged care.
Asked the secret to her long marriage, Mrs Gordon, said “just say yes”.
However, Mr Gordon attributed the longevity of the marriage to his good looks.
Mr and Mrs Gordon celebrated their anniversary with family members on Saturday.
