The Mudgee Sporting Clays club has been well represented recently, with a number of local members attended the Australian Sporting Clays Nationals in Brisbane.

More than 400 shooters from around Australia and overseas had nominated to shoot in this event.
Craig Kurtz put the local club on the map by being crowned the Australian B grade champion.
Ross Christian was placed second in the super veteran category and young shooter Jack Roth fourth in sub-juniors.
Ross also made the cut for the Australian training team.
The NSW state team which consisted of Mudgee members Steve Payne, Steve Atkins, Dan Baskerville and Ross Christian was placed third, being ten targets behind Queensland.
The club also congratulated Ross Christian and Daniel Baskerville for making the National Training Squad.
Over the recent long weekend Mudgee members attended the 50th anniversary gumtree championship at Gunnedah, where 270 clay target shooters were participating.
Andrew Garvie won AA both Saturday and Sunday; Steve Payne second in AA on Sunday.
Ross Christian was placed first in veterans each day and went on to win the veteran high gun trophy.
Jack Roth was placed first in sub-juniors each day, taking out the two day high gun in that grade.
And Kimberley Atkins took out third spot in sub-juniors on Sunday.
The old grey fox Bruce Williams was placed second in C grade Saturday and third on Sunday.
Brendon Stubbs and Steve Atkins were both presented with 25 break badges.
The inter-club team event between Mudgee and Gunnedah was no competition.
The Mudgee team – which consisted of Andrew Garvie, Ross Christian, Sam Sweeney, Reid Hjorth and Bruce Williams – being far to good for the opposing team.
The next Mudgee Sporting Clays event will be the 100 target English Sporting Pairs on Sunday, November 13, 2016, all day following a 10am start.
The club’s second November event will be the Mudgee Bearing Centre 100 Targets Competition, a fortnight later on on Sunday, November 27, 2016.
This year’s 2-Day Christmas Shoot is on the weekend of December 10-11, starting at 9am.
