Green Army applications open
If you are aged between 17 and 24, an Australian citizen or permanent resident and would like to be a part of a team that will make a real difference to the environment in your local community, applications for a Green Army project starting in Mudgee on January 9 are now open with Conservation Volunteers Australia. Participants will be paid an allowance while gaining skills, training and experience that can help them enter the workforce, improve their career opportunities or further their education and training. Carnival and Carols
The Rotary Christmas Carnival will be held at the Rylstone Showground this Saturday, December 3 from 3pm to 7pm with all the usual fun and excitement for the Christmas Season. Come along and later in the evening join in with some carol singing. Stall holders are urged to attend. Contact Elizabeth McKay on 5307 3222 for an application form.
Glen Alice Christmas concert
The Glen Alice Public School and local community are coming together to celebrate the school presentation and Christmas party followed by the bluegrass sounds of Burnt Creek Deviation Band at the Glen Alice Community Hall on December 10 at 6pm. Exhibition opening
The next art exhibition opening at Gallery 47, Rylstone is on this Saturday, December 3 and features the work of Geoffrey Payne. It’s called ‘The House on the Hill: New Ground Breaking Work’ and captures the building process of a sanctuary that Geoff and his wife Virginia Handmer are currently building. Please join the artist at the exhibition opening from 4pm to 6pm. It will be open until Monday, January 1, 2017.
