This will be the sixth anniversary of the community event which attracts a large family crowd every year.
Rotary member Lisa Ramien is excited for this years event saying it’s a chance for the local community to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas.
“This year, we’ll have a few new features including local market stalls for last minute Christmas shoppers and live bands to entertain the crowd.
Santa will again arrive in style with Mudgee Helicopters (weather permitting) before spending time handing out lollies to the kids – young and old.
There will also be an opportunity for the kids to sit and talk with Santa and for parents to take their own special Santa photo.
On stage, Dance Unlimited will perform for the crowd from 4.45pm.
The entertainment will continue with the Combined Schools Choir and the Mudgee Concert Band singing carols.
Just before the fireworks, the entertainment will continue with local bands – Jess Holland, Sugarfoot and Mitch and Mike Gordon.
The beautiful fireworks display, set to wow the audience and local residents, will kick off at 9pm.
“We’d like to thank our sponsors for make this community event happen. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to put on such a high class event for local residents and visitors,” Mrs Ramien said.
Those attending the event will be able to enjoy the markets and purchase food and drink from local vendors or bring a picnic.
Don’t forget to your chairs and blankets.
Entry will be through the Nicholson and Douro street entrances at the Mudgee Showground.
The annual Showgrounds Christmas Carols are proudly organised by Rotary Clubs of Mudgee and Sunrise Rotary.
The Carols are an alcohol free event and entry is a gold coin donation.
Gates open at 4pm and the event closes at 9.15pm.
