In a post on their Facebook page. Police say they are continuing their investigation in relation a brawl in the beer garden of the Woolpack Hotel at 2.00am, Saturday December 17.
Police are interviewing patrons and reviewing CCTV captured of the incident. The police say the behaviour is ‘nothing short of disgraceful’ with numerous people involved and even more people watching and egging on participants.
Police intend to release images of people that may be able to assist with the investigation. They say they would rather you come forward before the images are posted on social media.
A 26 year old Mudgee male is currently in Sydney awaiting surgery after receiving two compound fractures to his jaw.
Police say they are surprised that others weren’t seriously injured or worse.
Police are making inquiries and charges will be preferred in relation to those responsible. The investigation is current and ongoing.
If you were present, either involved or witnessing the matter Mudgee Police highly recommend that you come and see investigators at Mudgee Police Station to outline your involvement or what you saw.
The police understand that some patrons went to the extent of filming the fight on their phones and police are requesting the footage to assist in the investigation.
We do not tolerate people taking these matters into their own hands and police are investigating links to another similar incident at the BP Service Station in Mudgee some 24 hours later.

They are asking that anybody with footage please go to them with it to assist in the investigation.
Police have also received information that close friends of the injured male are not prepared to come forward and provide information at this stage. Police say they find this concerning and encourage them to do so.
Police are also working with the hotel to address licensing, intoxication, trading hours, lockout and security related issues to prevent future incidents.
