A grass and scrub fire is burning in the area of Wuuluman, between Wellington and Mudgee, to the west of the Cudgegong River. The fire has burnt more than 2730 hectares of land and is now contained.
The fire is burning in hilly country between Wellington and Mudgee. Firefighters and aircraft are working to keep the fire on the western side of the Cudgegong River.
Overnight use of aircraft with infrared capabilities identified hot spots and guided crews to put them out and allowed for water bombing aircraft to attack today.
Through the day crews will continue to strengthen containment lines along the southern and eastern edge of the fire.
Crews will continue to mop up before conditions become less favourable in coming days.
Residents to the west of the Cudgegong River should remain vigilant and follow the directions of firefighters.
Residents and tourists on the eastern side of the Cudgegong River in the vicinity of Bimbajong, Narbethong, Glencoe, Yarrabin, Tacoola and the Cudgegong River Caravan Park should monitor conditions closely and know what they will do in the event the fire threatens.
Unless required the next update will be issued by 9am Monday 16 January.

Crews have today been able to continue to undertake back burning operations along the eastern edge of the fire. These containment lines will be further strengthened throughout the afternoon.
The southern edge is being actively patrolled, with better conditions today enabling firefighters to keep the fire within containment lines.
Residents to the west of the Cudgegong River should remain vigilant and follow the directions of firefighters.
Residents and tourists on the eastern side of the Cudgegong River in the vicinity of Bimbajong, Narbethong, Glencoe, Yarrabin, Tacoola and the Cudgegong River Caravan Park should monitor conditions closely and know what they will do in the event the fire threatens.

The southern edge will be actively patrolled through the day with wind conditions potentially putting pressure on this side of the fire later today.

The fire is burning in hilly country between Wellington and Mudgee. Firefighters and aircraft are working to keep the fire on the western side of the Cudgegong River.
Overnight fire activity was quiet which allowed firefighters to work on consolidating containment lines along the southern and eastern side of the fire. Work along Guroba Road, on the southern side of the fire, is continuing today.
Crews are today concentrating their efforts on the east and north eastern side of the fire. Conditions today are more favourable which will assist firefighters in their containment efforts.
Dependant on conditions later today, back burning operations may be undertaken this evening.
Residents to the west of the Cudgegong River should remain vigilant and follow the directions of firefighters.

An airbase has been established at Goolma.
