The call has gone out to locals to put on their gloves and pick up their rubbish bags Sunday (March 5) for Clean Up Australia Day.
The local site is Putta Bucca Wetland.
So far this year over three quarters of a million volunteers have removed the equivalent of more than 16,000 ute loads of rubbish from 8,205 locations across Australia.
Chairman and founder of Clean Up Australia, Ian Kiernan AO, that over the last 26 years volunteers have donated more than 31 million hours at over 166 thousand locations across the country.
“Now is your chance to gather your friends and family; team mates and colleagues together to join thousands of fellow Australians to clean up your local environment,” he said.
Registrations for 2017 Clean Up sites and volunteers are now open at cleanupsuatraliaday.org.au.
