After being founded early in 2015, the Mudgee-based cat rescue facility has rescued and rehomed a large number of cats and kittens in the local areas, including three kittens and a young mother in Walgett.
Although the company has many advocates, including the in-house Community Liaison officer Tara Martin, more needs to be done for the Itty Bitty Kitty Rescue in terms of promotion and funds.
Recently the Rescue initiative joined with the Mudgee Mutt Strutt to raise money, and has been running a raffle ticket stall at Coles for the Mother’s Day raffle, with tickets still available.
According to Sara Fitzgerald, who organises the recruitment of foster carers and admins, the goal for the rescue centre is to raise funds for the desexing of 25 cats and kittens this winter.
Ms Fitzgerald has put the call out for aid, either in the form of donations through their charity-tin, or just in the way of financial donation, cat food, worming paste and tablets, spare bedding and kitty litter, as well as simply putting donations towards the cost of vet bills for these rescued cats.
