“We are sincerely thrilled to have won the award,” business owners Grosvenor and Ro Francis said.
“We know that our local customers and the many visitors that taste and buy our cheese love what we do and that makes us very happy.”
The state awards are judged by a panel of thirty-three Australian food leaders who all taste and test the foods on offer.
“The fact that all of the entrants are nominated by Australia’s leading chefs and restaurateurs makes us feel even more appreciated from the highest of culinary levels,” Grosvenor said.
“We hope that the recognition that we have received in this award transpires to more awareness of Mudgee as a great food producing region and that it attracts more visitors and perhaps it may even encourage more or our local producers to promote their goods into markets outside of our region.”
The now award-winning cheese makers today attended the LollaProducer event at the Carriageworks in Sydney.
“The event is like no other,” Grosvenor said.
“It provides us with the opportunity to mingle with 60 other producers in one room for one intense day whereby leading chefs, cooks, caterers and restaurateurs and other professional foodies will come into contact with us and our cheese.”
