WaterNSW is inviting all former dam builders to mark 50 years since the dam was completed.
WaterNSW will host a series of events on Friday, August 18 and Saturday, August 19 to mark the benefits the dam has provided.
Celebrations will include a commemorative gathering for former construction employees and a wreath laying for those who died during construction, as well as public tours of the dam.
Burrendong Dam is one of the largest inland dams in NSW, with a capacity of 1700 gigalitres, which includes 1200 gigalitres of water storage and a potential 500 gigalitres of surcharge for flood mitigation.
Construction of the dam began in 1946.
Former dam builders can register by contacting Pip Goldsmith on 0421288634.
