The Mudgee man was one of three division one winners across Australia in draw 3689 on August 23 and takes home the guaranteed division one prize of $1 million. He was also one of two division one winners from New South Wales in the draw.
The win continues a string of division one and 1st Prize wins to land in Mudgee during the past 12 months.
It’s also the second division one winning entry to be sold by Mudgee Newsagency during the past four months.

The latest winner received the breathtaking news from a NSW Lotteries official. While he had been playing Lotto for many years using his favourite numbers, the happy winner admitted he never expected to receive the life-changing phone call.
“You’ve got to be kidding!!” the man exclaimed.
“Oh god! Thank you! Thank you! I don’t know what to say!
“I didn’t think I’d ever get a call like this. I better go write that amount down! Where’s a bit of paper? I don’t want to write on the ticket!
“I’ve had breakfast and was about to have another coffee, but maybe I don’t need it at all now!”
Apart from winning division one, the man’s marked System 7 entry also won division three, bolstering the man’s prize to $1,003,388.80.
“I’ve been playing a long time, each week with my favourite numbers – they’re birth dates and ages. But I’ve never really had much success,” the winner said.
“When I go in each time, there’s usually nothing, but now this!
“I’m blown away! Absolutely!”
The astounded winner confessed he had no clues as to how he would use his windfall, but looked forward to not having to worry about money.
“I can’t even think about what I’ll do with it at the moment,” he said.
“It will certainly make a difference! It’s tremendous! Thank you!”
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his marked System 7 entry at Mudgee Newsagency.
In December last year, a Mudgee mum walked away with $200,000 after purchasing her 1st Prize winning Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot entry from Mudgee Newsagency.
In April this year, Mudgee Newsagency sold another division one winning entry in Monday & Wednesday Lotto, delivering a $1 million prize to a private syndicate of 10 local women.
Other wins have also landed in the city this year. In May, a private workplace syndicate won the $100,000 1st Prize in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot from an entry from Intersport Mudgee.
Mudgee Newsagency manager Angela Fittler said she couldn’t explain why the town was a lottery hotspot, but hoped the trend continued.
“We are on fire! We’ve had a lot of wins in town during the last year, including a first division earlier this year. It’s all happening in Mudgee!” she exclaimed.
“Mudgee is an awesome place. It’s my home town and a great place to live and work. I’m just pleased to see the wins coming our way,” she said.
“It’s fantastic news our latest winner is a local customer and we wish them all the very best with their prize.”
Across Australia, there were three division one winning entries in draw 3689 on Wednesday, August 23. The winning numbers were 19, 10, 11, 40, 37 and 17, while the supplementary numbers were 31 and 30.
