They faced a tough field at the Blayney competition, starting with an encounter against the Dubbo City representatives.
They were under pressure for much of the match, and at one point were behind 10-1, but were able to bring the game back around and finish off with a 17-10 win.
They faced the favourites – Orange City – in a ‘cracker of a match’, after City had swept Forbes aside in the semi-final.
Orange led 6-4 early, but the Gulgong duo weren’t going down without a fight, and Ross set the foundations for their triumph before they were able to keep their game strong down the middle to close out the win.
The triples team of Ross, Ryan and Debbie Buckley were defeated in the finals by Trangie, and Ryan lost in a tight singles final to reigning country champion Annette McMillan.
