Artists from the Rylstone/Mudgee district have created works to inspire discussion about a crime that sees at least one woman every week in Australia killed at the hands of their partner.
The exhibition will be held from October 7 to 30, 2017, open daily 9am – 4pm, at Gallery 47, Louee Street, Rylstone.
A silent auction will run throughout the exhibition and the works will remain anonymous in order to highlight the fact that those who have died in this continuing tragedy are voiceless.
Opening night will be held 4-6pm on Saturday, October 7, with motivational speaker, lecturer and businessman Steve Semmens, who is set to talk persuasively as the White Ribbon Ambassador.
Genevieve Elliott, author of Screaming in Silence, will also speak.
She is the mother of three brave and resilient children, together they have endured the horrors of abuse and the roller coaster of the legal system.
Genevieve works voluntarily for Fighters Against Child Abuse Australia and has generously offered two books to give away.
Local winery Naked Lady Wines will be serving their produce and all profits will be donated to White Ribbon.
