Orange City, Orange Emus, Coonabarabran and Central West will all field sides in several different age groups and formats on Saturday morning.
“We’ll have Emus and Orange City’s Wallas, under 7s, playing a couple of games and Central West’s under 13s side will also play a Barbarians type side in the lead-up too,” NSW Rugby Central West development officer Jarrod Simpson explained.
After those curtain-raisers, the Eagles take centre stage with a win needed to keep finals hopes alive.
It’s been a far from ideal build-up for coach Darren Coleman, with Andrew Kellaway called up on Barbarians duty, questions around Jake Gordon’s availability and injury concerns.
“It has been a bit of a nightmare to be honest,” Coleman laughed.
Gates open at 10am with the main kick off at 1pm.
