The tickets were sold around town the weekend before the race when the many visitors to Mudgee, for A Day On The Green and family celebrations, get the opportunity to join in the fun. The $1000 prize for this year has been claimed by Rona Moufarige, born and raised in Mudgee, now living elsewhere but visiting Mudgee for the weekend.
“Do it once, do it right” is the motto for the Rotary Pride of Workmanship awards. The Rotary Club of Mudgee Sunrise provide the awards bi-annually to recognise the good work done by the many employees in the Mudgee district. These awards dovetail with the other bi-annual presentation of the Clock Awards which recognise the excellence in businesses in Mudgee.
The Pride of Workmanship is not a competition but a chance for business owners and employers to recognise and say, “thank you” for the valuable contributions their employees make to their businesses.
Employers provide a statement about the employee, which is presented to the nominee and forms part of the award. Many employers try to make the award a surprise and when the statement is read out it can be quite emotional.
