The 2014 X-Factor finalists haven’t performed at their home town since 2015 but will take the stage on March 10 at Club Mudgee, kick-starting the ‘Decade Strong’ tour which celebrates the ten years Brothers 3 has been together.
Tayzin and Mack moved back to Mudgee from Sydney which has made the process easier, although they’re still dragging the third brother to the farm on weekends.
“We just decided we’d come back to Mudgee. We’ve still got the farm,” Mak said.
“We can do everything here, so we’ve basically been writing and recording music.
“Shardyn’s staying in Sydney and we’re making him drive up every weekend – we’re forcing him.”
Every time the group steps onto the stage it’s a three-man show, and the chances of the trio ever trimming down to two members are nil.
“It’s Brothers 3. Even when one of us is sick we try not to cancel, we’ve gotta force the other brother into doing it.”
2016 was the last time the group released an album but the boys are hard at work in the studio, producing content for their 8th project.
“We’re recording demos right now,” Mak said.
“The next album, we want it to be perfect and shape the next ten years of our career.
“We’re writing it and trying to make songs that really show everywhere we’re going.”
Western Australia and Northern Territory are among the uncharted areas for Brothers 3 and they hope to change that in the near future.
“We had a fan who flew from Broome to Perth then to Sydney to see one of our shows so that’s commitment and a half – now it’s our turn.”
As for Club Mudgee, the brothers are planning to mix up their song choice but more importantly, they’re touting the March 10 show as the first of its kind.
“It’s almost like we’ve never played a proper show at Mudgee. We’ve never brought production or big screens.”
“That’s what the tour is really about. We’ve got our own shows and we’re bringing the experience of the band to everyone.
“It’s our hometown and it’s like a homecoming – a Decade Strong homecoming.”
