“It’s a must win for us,” Hale said.
“The boys are pretty keen. We got together and had a beer and a yarn on Sunday and the camaraderie is good. We’ll get the job done.”
Although Mudgee would have expected a win against Dubbo, its outing wasn’t helped by the withdrawal of Matt Stanley.
Fast forward seven days and Stanley will return to make up a fully powered team that will do battle at Country Club, Orange.
All Mudgee needs to do is a get a win and it secures the number one seed in the finals.
Hale hopes to lock up the top placing in the post-season as he’d like to prolong a meeting with Forbes until the big dance.
“We don’t want to meet them in the first week of the semis. We’d rather play Cowra.”
