Lifeskills Plus CEO Carolyn Peek said the campaign aimed to create a positive image for the organisation and the opportunities they provide to people with a disability.
“We offer quite a few services so this about getting the awareness out there so that when people hear Lifeskills they think ‘that’s right they do this and that’,” she said.
The campaign will feature information about the organisation’s services and projects as well as stories such as that of Chris Rushworth, who with the help of Lifeskills’ ‘Transition to Work’ program, has gained employment at Bunnings Mudgee.
One of the local businesses that supports Lifeskills Plus with work experience and placements is CRT Mudgee who are sponsoring the radio campaign.
CRT Mudgee owner Scott Needham said the business has one of Lifeskills Plus’s clients working for them several hours a week.
The benefits for all involved has meant Mr Needham is only too happy to support the organisation.
“He’s wonderful, just fantastic.
“Our entire staff and all our clients love him and we’re currently working with Lifeskills to increase the number of hours he can do with us per week because we’ll have him as many hours as we can,” he said.
