Seven Cudgegong Valley Public School students will compete at the NSW Primary Schools Sports Association championships in Sydney today and tomorrow.

Four of the students will represent the school in individual events while CVPS will represent Western in the junior girls’ 4x100m relay.
Alesha Bennetts, Ella Maynard, Leilani Fisher and Alyssa Shoulders will be the relay runners.
The team qualified for the event in a time of one minute and 4.94 seconds.
Bennetts is the youngest member of the team at eight years of age.
The Year Two student will race against girls who are in Year Five.
Bennetts will also compete in the eight years 100m event. She won the Western title in a time of 15.41s.
Apart from the relay, Maynard is looking to add the 10 years long jump gold medal to her tally.
She won the Western title in a jump of 3.67 metres – 17 centimetres better than her nearest rival.
There are three boys representing the school – Hudson Brown, Nick Bennett and Lachlan Burke.
Burke has two events, the junior boys long jump and 10 years 200m.
He qualified for the 200m event in a time of 29.59s and the long jump with 3.81m.
Brown will compete in the nine years 100m. His dash at the Western carnival was 14.31s.
Bennett will take part in the 11 years shot put.
