Gulgong Primary School’s Rugby League team prepared itself for the Western Region Primary School Sports Association’s Football Grand Final.

The game was held at Gulgong’s Billy Dunn Oval and the whole school attended to show their support.
The team took to the field with great determination and they displayed fantastic team work and sportsmanship throughout the game.
All their efforts where well rewarded as they were victorious at the final whistle and the final score was Gulgong 26 and Narromine 6 .
Cheers went out throughout the crowd from students, teachers and parents.
This is the first time that Gulgong Public School has ever made it this far in the competition and they now advance to the championships and will face off against a team from Orange.
Deputy Principal and Coach Steve Haney was ecstatic with the students’ efforts and he looks forward to the next game.
The Gulgong Primary School team consists of students from Year 2 through to Year 6.
Although they are playing against much bigger schools, they have a never give up attitude.
Tom Hawkins, David West and Mana Hopa-Dermott were named the outstanding players for the Gulgong Team.
